Afrikan (Black) people are so easy! Just like that girl in high school afflicted with a severe inferiority complex so deep, she would let any boy who smiled at her bang her back out. Our people have been oppressed, raped and brutalized for so long, that when other races SEEM to show us any sort of affection, we start wagging our tails and rubbing against their legs. Like fools, our men carry on like adolescent chimpanzees every time a "latina" walks by, as if her European-bleached genes, and long white girl hair make them superior to our beautiful chocolate sisters! Our women are just as fool, wanting to make "pretty babies" with "latino" men (Remy Ma: GUILTY), because they hate the color of their own skin and the texture of their own hair. Hundreds of years of oppression and conditioning made many Afrikans despise our own physical features; the Harlem Rennaisance, and the subsequent civil/human rights/Black power movements seemed to make some progress in reversing this destructive mentality. But alas! the power of The Media was stronger, and as romanticised, idealised, and eroticised images of White women and men were paraded on our televisions and in our theaters, so did the desire of our people to be with and of White people wax. It all made sense really: Whites teach in their schools that Afrikans have no history to be proud of, we were enslaved for 400 years (our relatives in Afrika colonized), and it is not in any way healthy to be a Black human being in this White man's world. So I do understand many of our people running away from themselves in the belief that the grass is greener on the other side. I also understand that seeking the attention, approval, love and affection of your oppressor is a common malady amongst oppressed people. We feel that if we could make them love us (or just like us a little), they will make the pain of our existence go away. What is more perplexing, however, is our race's current infatuation with Hispanics, so-called "latinos".
For certain, Hispanics are the new White people of the United States. Their formidable numbers are increasing by the second, and their social and political clout far exceeds that of Afrikan Americans, who struggled so hard for the rights that other ethnicities take advantage of and are currently denying Blacks access to (Can't speak spanish? Can't get this job!). Our people stand idly by while the latino community expands their base of power in our neighborhoods, opening businesses that will not now or EVER hire a "moreno" (unless that moreno happens to be a blood-related family member). If you have ever gone into one of their establishments to spend your money with them, as a Black person, you are setting yourself up to be disrespected; a Hispanic person could be on line behind you and yet pay for their wares and be on their way before you can say "how much?" Most Hispanics will not thank you for holding a door open for them (guess they figure you're a nigger, that's your job). Hard as it is for Black children in our schools in Amerikkka, our children now have the added burden of having to learn a foreign language in order to get through school! So now we must be familiar with TWO European languages! This happens every day in the hood. Hispanics own television and radio networks (not stations, NETWORKS!), and where are their Black employees, mopping the floor somewhere? The racially ambiguous nature of Hispanics has worked well for them, since the only factors keeping them from being fully accepted and integrated into the mainstream White Power Structure are: their surnames, many of their concrete-thick accents and their appreciation for Afrikan-derived music (salsa, merengue, bachata, son, reggaeton). True, the blood of Afrika runs through their genetic make-up, but their denial and hatred of this fact is so strong, they make for more threatening enemies than White people. It is ironic that the ONLY reason any of them can set foot on these shores without being hung by crackers, is due to the sacrifices Afrikans made to prevent such eventualities, yet they disrespect us the moment the boat pulls up to the dock! We built this country yet have seen little in the way of progress to show for our hard work and dilligence. Now here come the new Plantation Masters whose very nomenclature (latino) honors that great ancient White empire this country is modeled after. When one of our people are brutalized or slain by police, where are the Hispanic Al Sharptons shouting "no justice, no peace"? Why must the Afrikan always have to be the champion of the rights of people of color, when other people of color despise us and treat us accordingly?
In part two, I'll break down for you: who (aside from lawyers and judges) speaks latin; why most Hispanic men where buzz haircuts; and where do latinas get those fantastic apple-bottoms from.
