"New Media for the New Millennium"

Afrikan (Black) people are so easy! Just like that girl in high school afflicted with a severe inferiority complex so deep, she would let any boy who smiled at her bang her back out. Our people have been oppressed, raped and brutalized for so long, that when other races SEEM to show us any sort of affection, we start wagging our tails and rubbing against their legs. Like fools, our men carry on like adolescent chimpanzees every time a "latina" walks by, as if her European-bleached genes, and long white girl hair make them superior to our beautiful chocolate sisters! Our women are just as fool, wanting to make "pretty babies" with "latino" men (Remy Ma: GUILTY), because they hate the color of their own skin and the texture of their own hair. Hundreds of years of oppression and conditioning made many Afrikans despise our own physical features; the Harlem Rennaisance, and the subsequent civil/human rights/Black power movements seemed to make some progress in reversing this destructive mentality. But alas! the power of The Media was stronger, and as romanticised, idealised, and eroticised images of White women and men were paraded on our televisions and in our theaters, so did the desire of our people to be with and of White people wax. It all made sense really: Whites teach in their schools that Afrikans have no history to be proud of, we were enslaved for 400 years (our relatives in Afrika colonized), and it is not in any way healthy to be a Black human being in this White man's world. So I do understand many of our people running away from themselves in the belief that the grass is greener on the other side. I also understand that seeking the attention, approval, love and affection of your oppressor is a common malady amongst oppressed people. We feel that if we could make them love us (or just like us a little), they will make the pain of our existence go away. What is more perplexing, however, is our race's current infatuation with Hispanics, so-called "latinos".

For certain, Hispanics are the new White people of the United States. Their formidable numbers are increasing by the second, and their social and political clout far exceeds that of Afrikan Americans, who struggled so hard for the rights that other ethnicities take advantage of and are currently denying Blacks access to (Can't speak spanish? Can't get this job!). Our people stand idly by while the latino community expands their base of power in our neighborhoods, opening businesses that will not now or EVER hire a "moreno" (unless that moreno happens to be a blood-related family member). If you have ever gone into one of their establishments to spend your money with them, as a Black person, you are setting yourself up to be disrespected; a Hispanic person could be on line behind you and yet pay for their wares and be on their way before you can say "how much?" Most Hispanics will not thank you for holding a door open for them (guess they figure you're a nigger, that's your job). Hard as it is for Black children in our schools in Amerikkka, our children now have the added burden of having to learn a foreign language in order to get through school! So now we must be familiar with TWO European languages! This happens every day in the hood. Hispanics own television and radio networks (not stations, NETWORKS!), and where are their Black employees, mopping the floor somewhere? The racially ambiguous nature of Hispanics has worked well for them, since the only factors keeping them from being fully accepted and integrated into the mainstream White Power Structure are: their surnames, many of their concrete-thick accents and their appreciation for Afrikan-derived music (salsa, merengue, bachata, son, reggaeton). True, the blood of Afrika runs through their genetic make-up, but their denial and hatred of this fact is so strong, they make for more threatening enemies than White people. It is ironic that the ONLY reason any of them can set foot on these shores without being hung by crackers, is due to the sacrifices Afrikans made to prevent such eventualities, yet they disrespect us the moment the boat pulls up to the dock! We built this country yet have seen little in the way of progress to show for our hard work and dilligence. Now here come the new Plantation Masters whose very nomenclature (latino) honors that great ancient White empire this country is modeled after. When one of our people are brutalized or slain by police, where are the Hispanic Al Sharptons shouting "no justice, no peace"? Why must the Afrikan always have to be the champion of the rights of people of color, when other people of color despise us and treat us accordingly?

In part two, I'll break down for you: who (aside from lawyers and judges) speaks latin; why most Hispanic men where buzz haircuts; and where do latinas get those fantastic apple-bottoms from.

Peace Thunder X,
Yes, it is pathological. I would like to say as far as the Latinos are concerned is that I have witnessed differented reactions from different groups of "latino". I have found more positive interaction with Puerto Ricans and dark Cubans than I have with Mexicans and lighter skinned Cubans. I think using a broad brush to included ALL spanish speakers is a bit much, however, I do feel you on the business side and one thing is for sure, when they call for a boycott, or anything, it dont matter if they are PR, Cuban, Mexican or what eva they ALL get busy. Something we can learn from but haven't. Now I guess we must also understand our socializing process here on these shores too. I don't think they will EVER be truly integrated, unless they give up those identifying traits you mentioned, however, perhaps, THEIR goal is NOT to integrate but to CREATE a power base for themselves, those are the moves I am looking at it here locally. For that matter just like there are Jews who you don't know are jewish, there are Latinos who you don't know is latino, and trust me when it is convenient they will surface, but until then they are making moves on behalf of Latino people. I am a witness to that, just like with homosexuals, I looked up one day in a meeting and folks were wearing rainbows that I never would of thought were "gay". Interesting........ I look forward to part two.

You are quite right in your analysis Queen Ifama. Also, you are correct that it is indeed unfair to use such a broad brush to paint all so-called "Latinos" as such. I have yet to relocate the information however, on a movement in certain Latin American nations to European-ize their populations through selective breeding. Of course we know that genetics is not that simple and has been known to produce unpredictable results when one attempts to manipulate the genetic make-up of organisms. I might also add that there have long been many of our people who were able to "pass" for White, and have taken advantage of the situation to avoid the misery the "less fortunate" among us had to face.

As I always say, however: if it don't apply, let it fly. Meaning, if my observation doesn't apply to certain individuals, then it's no harm, no foul. But it is a problem that bodes ill for our people if we allow ourselves to be happy, hand-holding, singing blind folks who are trading one master for another. We must realize that when all is said and done, we are all we've got. All parts of this are present here by the way.

Great Post and some thoughts about a passage. The reason the Latino population is exploding and ours is in decline, at least in part. Latinos are mostly Catholic and most do not practice birth control as a result and they rarely have abortions. While Black people are spiritual, (Christian, Muslim, MAAT), we are slaughtering ours babies in these abortion clinics which are concentrated in Urban areas. I do believe the Nazi Margaret Sanger and the founder of Planned Parenthood would be proud and joyful at the rate we are murdering our children in this country. AIDS/HIV is another problem which affects us more than anyone.

I don't believe that you can control who you fall in love with, but you can control unwanted pregnancies that lead to abortion which would also help to address the AIDS/HIV issues. We need to educate our children.

Thank you for writing this article. In my opinion it enlightens an individuals thinking, while elevating the "love of self". These complexities are root causes that enslaved our ancestors at the hands of our "own". Apparently, they had no love of self. Brother, each day I walk around with a "subliminal price" over my head. My heart cries out to a brainwashed people in thinking that "They" have made it... Yes, the money buys them material possessions, but the curse of many generations will follow. One of the main reasons that a number of hispanics have been made to believe they are the new "whites" is the same reason "Willie Lynch Syndrome". Divide and Conquer. If you think about it, think of the many food dishes that are exactly the same, but is different based on the name... For example, the dish "Gumbo" vs. that of the african dish, "Pepper Soup". If you have ever experienced this food, you would know they are both the same... regardless of ingredients.

Our people continue to sell each other, just as slave masters did our ancestors. Therefore based on your article, hispanics are also a part of this level of brainwashing in the likeness of our people. There is no difference. I look forward to more of your compilations.

The term Hispanic appeared in the second decade of the twentieth century to describe people, countries and communities that share the Spanish language and culture have a connection with Spain. It includes 23 nations and more than 472 million people in Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

The idea of Hispanics are sometimes associated with the arrival of the Spaniards first brought to America by Christopher Columbus on October 12, 1492. That date is remembered in various Hispanic nations, though with different names and meanings.

Hispanic is a term of the Spanish classic, to the early twentieth century had already fallen into disuse. But in 1926 the Spanish priest Zechariah of Vizcarra suggested in an article published in Buenos Aires that "Hispanic" should replace "Race" in the celebrations of the Twelve in October. The celebration of October as twelve Fiesta de la Raza was proposed in 1913 by Faustino Rodríguez-San Pedro from the Ibero-American Union, and in Spain in 1918 reached the rank of a national holiday with that name. Heading in fact widely used in various American republics that had also recognized as the October 12 national holiday, without any name or under other labels

So President Obama has nominated the first Hispanic female to the Supreme Court. Sonia Sotomayor is a Puerto Rican that grew in the projects of Bronx, NY. What is your reaction to this pick. Do you support his pick, don't care or don't know enough. The right wing racist and misguided religous people are coming out against her so that enough for me to support her. LOL...just kidding but she does seem to be a wise choice on his part and the Republicans just don't know how to approach her.
