Black Talk Radio Network Member Sponsor Package

The Black Talk Radio Network is the media distribution website for the North Carolina non-profit Black Talk Media Project. The Black Talk Media Project was created to build upon the revelation of human rights activist Malcolm X that media is the most powerful entity on the planet because it can be used to control the minds of the masses. Many of the societal ills we see today can be attributed in part to media we consume and the influence it has on our morals and values.

According to Kristal Zook, a journalism professor at Hofstra University, minorities, who form 33 percent of the population, control only 3 percent of the broadcast media. When you consider the type of media that is presented to minorities through outlets like Black Entertainment Television and a number of urban radio stations owned by corporate conglomerates that broadcast the Gangsta Rap genre, one should be able to make the connection on why many Black and Latino youth subscribe to violence, sexual promiscuity and other poor lifestyle choices.

The Black Talk Media Project hopes to give minorities more positive choices in media by engaging youth to not only be consumers of media but to teach them how to be producers of media. By educating youth on the power of media, its history and how it has been and is used to influence minds, we hope that they will become less susceptible to the negative influences of media. In order to start building media centers equipped with new media technology, the Black Talk Media Project needs financial support.

We hope to solicit financial support for our non-profit by offering services to sponsors in return for their monthly contributions. We have designed a sponsor package specifically for members of the Black Talk Radio Network. Below is what this monthly sponsor package will include.
