John Cornyn: Part of the Nazi America Crowd?

Republican John Cornyn of Texas seems to be following the party line as dictated by the Republican Party leader Rush Limbaugh in denigrating the American justice system for all the wrong reasons. It appears the Republican strategy to gin up support for its fractured party is to play to the right wing Nazi crowd. What the American fringe right wing really wants in relation to justice concerning the accused is mob justice or at least a show trial where a guilty verdict has already been predetermined as was the case in the trials of Communists and Jews in Hitler’s Germany during the beginning of his reign.

In a Facebook post, John Cornyn agreed with New York Times writers Eric Lichtblau and Benjamin Weiser that the alleged mastermind of the 911 terrorist attacks, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, “might seek to martyr himself in the eyes of Muslim extremists through a grand and lengthy trial.". “No kidding” says John Cornyn. The right wing fringe has come up with kinds of absurd reasoning as to why the accused should not be brought to trial in the United States. What are they afraid of? Because in actuality, the Bush administration and the Republican Party will be on trial for the torture and other human rights violations they authorized.

For all their talk about freedom and smaller government, the Republicans created the largest police state in the world with unprecedented power under special “terrorism” legislation that allows American citizens to have their Constitutional rights trampled upon. This trial will expose the hypocrisy of these politicians who while falsely saying no one read or had time to read health care reform legislation, did not read the misnamed “Patriot Act” before voting for it. These people are all talk and no substance. The Republican Party has become nothing but a propaganda mill big on catch phrases and short on actual patriotism and respect for the Constitution and the rule of law.

If by chance, which is very doubtful, Mohammed is found innocent, it will not be because of the Obama administration decision to honor the rule of law but it will because of the unlawful actions of the Bush administration, backed by the Republicans, which could result in an acquittal. However, it is highly unlikely.
